The warm, light beige of the hat meets the soft cappuccino tones of the hand-knotted band – a harmonious look with natural elegance.

The band comes with both a gold and silver clasp but can also be worn loosely tied.

This exclusive “Back to the roots” collection is the result of a special collaboration between hatmaker Sandra Ullmann (La Modiste Sandra Ullmann) and Mahawo. Together, they’ve created a series that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design – inspired by the continued use of hand-knotting techniques in Mexico. A tribute to genuine artistry and cultural heritage.

The hat features a timeless Fedora-style shape – with a straight brim, refined bride stitching, and an adjustable inner band for a perfect fit. Each hat is carefully handcrafted from high-quality Italian wool felt. The standard size fits a head circumference of approx. 57 cm and can be easily adjusted via the inner band.

The knotted hatband by Mahawo is crafted in close collaboration with an indigenous community in Mexico. Made from bio-based PLA fibers derived from natural raw materials, it brings both texture and meaning to the design.
